Between the colors and the animated spunk of this Tri-Colored Heron I knew I had to paint this bird. I don't know if it's a male or female as they are basically the same in appearance unless you see a male or female together in which case the male will be larger.  I love the plumage colors, the long dagger like bill and the attitude of this one with his mouth open!
