We were on a sunset Dolphin Cruise in Orange Beach and our boat was cruising through Wolf Bay and Bay La Launch at almost sunset when 3 Dolphins started racing alongside our boat jumping and flipping out of the water and keeping up pretty well. The Captains of these boats all work together so this beautiful brilliantly yellow boat came along on the other side of the leaping Dolphins and ran along the other side of the Dolphins for over 5 minutes. It was amazingly beautiful, the Dolphins AND the yellow boat, the Sunny Lady'. The 70 Dolphins who live in these bays are protected and no harm comes to them. They actually seek out people and enjoy the attention. You are not allowed to feed the Dolphins, which they know. They just like the company. I had just bought a large tube of Cadmium Yellow Deep when I went on this cruise, so I was so excited to paint this scene with those spectacular reflections in the water. I used pure yellows straight from the tube in some places. It was so much fun. My reference photo was taken afterwards.
